Mr. M.K. Narayanan

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Mr. M K Narayanan  (former National Security Advisor) was the Vice President of the CSA till May 2004. Presently he is the Governor of West Bengal.  

A former member of the Indian Police Service, he has held a wide array of assignments dealing primarily with National Security and Intelligence. He was Director of the Intelligence Bureau, India's apex intelligence body for nearly five years (two terms). He was also Chairman of the Joint Intelligence Committee and concurrently held the post of Secretary, National Security Advisor on National Security Affairs to four Prime Ministers. He has also been a member of National Security Council Advisory Body and was a member of a number of task forces on intelligence and internal security.

A highly decorated civil servant he was awarded the Padma Shri in 1992 and was recently honoured as an Honorary Member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police.
